  • Yavuz Oğuz Uca, PhD

    Founder & Managing Director

    Dr. Yavuz Oguz Uca is the Founder & Managing Director of BioQXs. With an academic background in biology and molecular bioengineering, his career began at the bench, where he spent years investigating clinical samples and developing bionanomaterials for the early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Today, he translates that deep expertise into the MedTech space, leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of digital health solutions. Yavuz also serves as a regulatory affairs specialist, ensuring the quality assurance and clinical compliance necessary to bring digital health innovations to market.

  • Özlem Karakaşlıoğlu

    Creative Science Director

    Interdisciplinary filmmaker working at the intersection of film, AI, creative science, and human-experience design, with a background in biology and a Master’s degree in cinema. After more than a decade in international film production, she began developing interdisciplinary projects that combine cinematic storytelling, artificial intelligence, and human physiology. Her scientific creative works explore how narrative, technology, and perception interact to shape human experience.

    Iklim graduated from Turkish Education Foundation İnanç Türkeş High School, where she took on leadership roles in student organizations including the mechatronics team, the entrepreneurship club, and TEDx events. She is currently studying at Georgetown University in Qatar, majoring in International Economics with a focus on energy and sustainability.

  • Aleyna Büyükgüçlü, MPH

    Business Operations

    Aleyna is a Master of Public Health candidate at Boston University, focusing on the design, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare programs. She is particularly interested in effective integration of cutting-edge technologies into healthcare settings based on the foundations of healthcare economics and financial management. She holds a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Marmara University and worked for over three years as a bariatric dietitian in international healthcare settings. Her interests include improving healthcare delivery and exploring how emerging technologies can be integrated into health systems.

  • Ulaş Dilek, MSc

    Data Intelligence

    Ulas studies intelligence through the lens of computational neuroscience at the Cognitive Computational Neuroscience Lab at Bilkent University. He has research experience in neuroscience, AI, and robotics, and industry experience as a software engineer. His past endeavours include helping build an autonomous Formula Student car, participating in competitive programming contests, and building an ESC-30-supported education organisation for high schoolers. In his free time, he likes to read, write, and run.

  • Yavuz Alp Sencer Öztürk

    AI Solutions

    Yavuz Alp Sencer Öztürk is a Founding Engineer at Freya (YC S25), where he builds enterprise AI systems, and the Founder of Bilkent AI Society. He previously worked on Intelligene Search, a bioinformatics AI search engine operating over 300M+ genomic nodes. At TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, he contributed to dataset development and post-training techniques for Turkish language models. His research on AI agents was presented at ASE 2025.

    Esin Şahsenem Karakurt is a Bioengineering student at Yıldız Technical University, focusing on the intersection of life sciences, innovation, and social impact. Drawing on her research at the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Lab, she specializes in project management and grant writing for interdisciplinary initiatives. By combining her technical background with leadership in EU-supported youth projects, she builds bridges between academia and real-world applications. Ultimately, Esin aims to become an academic social entrepreneur, exploring neuroscience and human behavior through a bioengineering lens.

  • Gizem Evin

    Research Fellow - Science Communication & Marketing

    Gizem Evin is an M.Sc. student in Molecular Life Science at the University of Lübeck, working at the crossroads of biology, computation, and neuroscience. Her path started in the lab, TÜBİTAK-funded toxicology research, biotech, and diagnostics, and sharpened during her undergraduate thesis, where she built electronic-nose biosensors for early lung cancer detection. That project convinced her that the next breakthroughs in healthcare will come from pairing biological insight with data-driven tools. She's now aiming to become a bio-entrepreneur, turning research at the intersection of biotech, digital health, and neuroscience into ventures with real-world impact.

  • Nurgül Abut

    Intern - Data Science & AI

    Nurgül Abut is an intern at BioQXs. She is an archaeologist and a senior Management Information Systems student with a focus on data science and artificial intelligence. She is passionate about transforming data into meaningful insights and contributing to MedTech and the life sciences through data-driven solutions.
